Guidelines for contributors

 

1) General 

Please avoid tabs, and sophisticated forms of layout. Press ENTER to start a new paragraph.

If not absolutely necessary, avoid tables and photos (the latter does not concern papers on archaeological topics). Send us both doc and pdf versions. The deadline is June 2012.

 2) Quotations

a) Direct references are given in round brackets. Example: (Singer 2002: 11) 

b) for (longer) discussions, comments or quotes, please use footnotes. Example: KBo 17.1+ (duplicat KBo 17.3+) ii 40-44, studied by Otten – Souček 1969: 28f. (ii 54-58). Cf. also  Archi 1988: 13 note 33.

c) References (at the end of the paper)

Second Circular

Dear Colleagues,

As you already know, the 8th International Congress of Hittitology will be held at the University of Warsaw on September 5-9, 2011.

All sessions will be held at the main campus of the University of Warsaw, Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28, in so-called “Old Library.”

More information about how to get to the campus and places to stay in Warsaw is given online at “How to get there.”

It may be wise to book a hotel well in advance.

More than 90 lectures have been announced. Those who intend to deliver a contribution are kindly requested to send English summaries of lectures (or posters) no later than June 1st, 2011.

I remind those who will pay the congress fees on the spot that cash only (in Euros) will be accepted. Registration for the congress will begin on Sunday, September 4 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the main hall of the “Old Library.” It will be also possible the following day(s) at the reception desk.

The program of the congress will be announced on our website as soon as we will get all summaries, in June 2011.

Three receptions and a sightseeing tour will be organized during the congress.

Please inform us whether you are interested in delivering your contribution and about its topic no later than November 30th, 2010. For obvious organizational concerns, contributions may not exceed 20 minutes. All equipment requirements during presentations can be submitted ahead of time using the online registration form on the congress website.

Please send summaries of conferences (or posters) no later than June 1st, 2011.

You are kindly asked to take care of hotel booking yourselves.
A list of hotels in various price classes will appear soon on the congress website.
